Prediction

Clinton will win by a mere 5 points tonight, her funding will quickly dry up and Barack will be the nominee before the June 3 primaries.

I'm just sayin'.

The Real American Idols

I was doing some reminiscing about our last trip to California and watching the videos we took of our afternoon jams...I came across this priceless little ditty and thought that a certain 5 year old would get a kick out of seeing it...since it was way too big to e-mail, I am posting it here. Enjoy!

Why the Hell is Jak so Happy?

For probably the past 2 or 3 years, I have answered the query "how are you?" or "How's it goin'?" or "how ya feelin'" with "Fantastic" or "OUT standing" or "Couldn't be better" or "none of your goddamn business". Not so much the latter, but we all have our days, right?

So, who cares about this, right? Why would I even share this information with you, my loyal blog aids? Well, I'll tell you why...it is because an alarming number of people DO care. Since I have started doing this, I have had numerous people respond in surprising ways.

"Outstanding? What is so outstanding about today?"

"Fantastic? How can you always be fantastic? It's impossible"

"You know, I have a real problem with people who say they are outstanding or fantastic all the time. I think they have a warped view of reality and they need to snap out of it"

"Jason, why do you always say you are fantastic? Is it just because you got tired of saying 'ok' or 'fine'?"

No, it is not just because I got tired of saying "ok" or "fine" when people asked me how I was doing. It is because, in the grand scheme of things, I am outstanding/fantastic. And I have explained this to each and every person that has had the audacity to question my outstanding-ness. They seem to get it, but I thought, for the enjoyment/betterment of all my readers, I would share with you my reasoning for why I am freakin' outstanding today.

1. I have my health.
2. My family is healthy.
3. I have a roof over my head.
4. I have a great job
5. Not a day goes by that I go hungry.
6. I have a wife, kids and extended family that love me very much (thanks guys!)
7. I have great friends
8. I enjoy great personal freedoms in the country where I live

Add all of that up, and I am better off than about 95% of the worlds population and that is conservative. Probably closer to 99%. If I have all those things above, how in the world could I ever profess to being anything but fantastic/amazing/outstanding??? It would be an absolute affront to those of us who are without health, home, food, love, happiness and freedom. I live a charmed life and I know it. I am thankful for it. I cherish it. Every day that I am alive is a wonderful day.

In short, it is all about perspective my friends. Take time to consider all you do have and worry less about what you don't have. You'll be amazed at how charmed your life is. And you will be amazed how good it feels to tell people how great you are doing. So, go out and tell someone you are outstanding! Fantastic! Wonderful! today. You'll be glad you did. ;-)

Much love to all!
