Longhorn in Paradise

As you can tell, I am trying to play catch-up here...I have given up on any pretense at humorous writing and will just be posting pictures of the family, etc. Much easier that way and much more likely to post more often...and, I know you just want to see these unbelievably cute kids anyway.

So, without further adieu...here they are!!

So, here was our day yesterday....well, after I played basketball for two hours and went to brunch with friends (who lived in Valencia for 3 or 4 years)...we went to the pool (as we do most every day)...

Man, it has been a long time since I posted...I sure am lazy. After going to the Brown's blog, though, I can see that I need to at least pretend to keep up with the joneses. Sheesh. 5 posts since I last checked!!!

So, what has been happening here...well, work was going great until yesterday when I found out that the project I am currently on may be dying a quick death...so, I am "on the bench" for the next 3 weeks. Good news is I get to stay home...bad news is, I am not billable. So, not sure if I am happy or sad...happy for now...sad if it goes on too long. Looking for a new client now...preferably on the west coast where I won't get rained on every week when I try to come home. :-) Another development at work is that our trivia team took home the gold this week!! So, there is a bar in Foggy Bottom called The MadHatter that holds trivia every Tuesday night. It is about 30 questions and they pass a sheet around and you fill in the answers and turn them in an hour later. VERY tough/random questions. We have been doing it for the past couple months and have had varying degrees of luck...sometimes close, sometimes getting smoked. The best finish prior to this week was a tie for second which led to a "trivia-off" that we lost (they asked the two teams that tied how many clydesdales Anheuser Busch had in their stables...we guessed 24 (case)...the answer was 250!!! kind of excessive, don't you think??) Anywho, this week, we came in first. And, as you can see from the title of this post, our team name is Stupid Sexy Flanders. Not all my teammates get it, but they acquiesce. :-) If you don't get it, deal with it. Its a Simpsons thing...you wouldn't understand.

Now, to the fun stuff...the fam. Liska and Hagen are doing great as you can see from the pic...this is how they always are. Smiling and hugging each other. It would be much more difficult to find a picture of them not being nice to each other...because we are too busy prying them apart with a crowbar to take the picture...suffice to say, they get along for the most part, but they are both VERY opinionated...just like their mommy...;-)

This is not a joke...Liska went in with Kat to get her first pedicure. How cute is she? Think she might grow up to be a princess? hmm....got to make sure she keeps taking basketball class.

Speaking of which...here is a pic of Liska during her last gymnastics class. I have some video too on Kat's computer that I will try to load up later today. Both Gymnastics class and basketball class. She is a busy girl!!

Now that the summer is over...Liska has started her first year of preschool. She will be going to Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2:30. AND, surprisingly, a spot opened up for Hagen in the toddlers class, so he will be starting the same program next Tuesday. So, Kat will have a well-deserved break for 5 hours twice a week for the next 8 months. Not too shabby!

Kat is doing great...she is getting more involved in her AXO alumni group and enjoying that. She and the kids are going to the pool and to the Tulsa Aquarium quite often and she is reconnecting with all her friends here in T town. You would have to ask her, but I think she is enjoying it here. :-)
